The way the Kiran Kumar Reddy government provided unprecedented security to the “Chenetha Dharna” taken up by YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi on Monday made the Congress MPs from Telangana fretting and fuming.
Apart from lodging a complaint with the Congress high command along with video clippings showing the over-action of the police in crushing the Telangana agitators during the dharna, the Telangana Congress MPs have called on the injured women members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and expressed their solidarity. They have found fault with the Kiran Kumar Reddy government for going overboard in helping the YSR Congress party.
“We fail to understand whether it is the Congress party or the YSR Congress party which is ruling the state. While the government used force against the Congress party MPs agitating for Telangana and foisted false cases against them, it provided full security to the rival party leader who virtually invaded the Telangana region for political gains,” Telangana Congress MPs Ponnam Prabhakar and S Rajaiah said.
They shouted Jai Telangana slogans after calling on Rahimunnisa, a TRS activist who was pushed down from the vehicle while she was agitating at Sircilla dharna.
