The one name which is being chanted by many over the past few weeks is S S Rajamouli. However, at the beginning he was being hailed for his recent offering ‘Eega’ but now he is being slammed after he took the aggressive step to fight against piracy and dropped a small note of warning to the NRI folks.
As expected, retaliation has also come by Rajamouli being tagged as a ‘Copy King’ and he has no right to talk about piracy. However, Rajamouli cannot be called a copy king completely. Of course the English flick ‘Our Hospitality’ became ‘Maryada Ramanna’ for Telugu audience.
But converting to nativity requires a lot of creativity. Only a lift and shift means copy and Rajamouli doesn’t do that. He is in perfect sync with the audience pulse and knows how to connect it to the Telugu roots. Many have done remakes but no one has been as successful as Rajamouli. While he gets inspired by the concept from west, tweaking it with native elements and bringing the right emotion is what makes him special.
