Just like the sector of heroines, heroes and other actors, a tough competition has emerged in the music director field also. Each passing day, many talented music makers are hitting the fray. Amidst this, one question raised is, what happens to the future of the following music directors.....
We are talking about the likes of Ghantadi Krishna, Ramana Gogula, R P Patnaik, K M Radhakrishna etc. Apparently, they are not ordinary music composers. Many thought they would rule the music industry for the next 20-30 years. During their heydays, they got huge following for their tunes and chartbusters.
But today, they are gone without address. Being such highly talented music makers, they are not getting chances. But here is what one cine senior from filmnagar revealed. He said “New music directors are ready for Rs 6 to 7 lakhs. This involves the budget of sound engineer, singers, theatre payment, live musicians etc. Lyricists will not come under music director.“
They add “Just to prove their mettle the youngsters are accepting offers. But guys like Gogula, Radhakrishna and others are charging Rs 25 lakhs. Small films will not come. Big films need to have brands like Thaman, Keeravani, Mani Sharma. If they were cost effective and proceeded they would have had great careers.” As of now, we don’t know what the other reasons are for these music directors to lose out.
