Lobbying begins against Telangana

The reports that the Congress high command is all set to take a decision on the Telangana statehood demand after the Presidential elections, the anti-Telangana forces have landed in Delhi to intensify their lobbying against any such move....
Several leaders from Seemandhra region including J C Diwakar Reddy, N Raghuveera Reddy, C Ramachandraiah and Ganta Srinivasa Rao are meeting the top leaders of the high command and are presenting their views on the state bifurcation. They are reportedly campaigning that the Congress party position would worsen if the state is bifurcated.
The leaders are believed to have contacted a few media persons to plant stories that Sonia was not willing to concede Telangana at this stage at a time when there was a complete lull in the movement.
The unusual voting in favour of YSR Congress party candidate Konda Surekha at Parkal in the recent by-elections clearly shows that the movement has subsided. At this stage, any decision in favour of Telangana would create further unrest in the rest of the state and the Congress would further lose the support of the people, they are saying.
