The accused, Sandip Singh, is a third year BCom student of Ananda Mohan College. "The woman said that she was walking down Amherst Street around 8.30pm when Sandip, who was with some friends, grabbed her and planted a kiss on her lips. She protested but the others didn't come to her aid. Sandip has been charged with outraging the modesty of a woman," a police officer said. The victim and her mother lodged an FIR at Amherst Street police station.
Police are trying to identify the others who were with Sandip.
