Ever since his mobile call records got leaked creating flutters in the media circles, Central Bureau of Investigation joint director V V Lakshminarayana has virtually stopped interacting with the media.
It has been a long time since Lakshminarayana hogged the media limelight. In fact, after his return from South Africa trip, he has not been seen talking to the media except on one occasion when he was in Visakhapatnam to probe into the Vizag Urban Development Authority land scam. Till the other day, the CBI top cop was always leaking news to a section of media on the progress of investigation into the alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
There could be two reasons for Lakshminarayana’s silence. One, he might be come cautious ever since the high court pulled him up for talking to the media regularly; secondly, there might be instructions from the Centre to go slow on the Jagan case and hence, he would not like to talk to the media about it. In any case, Lakshminarayana’s penchant for being in the news has subsided!
