RGV And Puri Are Not Fools

Lately, a lot of criticism has been panning on Ram Gopal Varma and his protégé Puri Jagannadh. The reason for that has been the type of films they are making and the poor content in it. But then, few rationalists are declaring that both RGV and Puri are not fools.
They say “Planning for a film neatly like Rajamouli and releasing it after 1-2 years there is no guarantee that it will become a blockbuster. Even Mani Ratnam has that problem and we have seen what happened to his films recently. When that guarantee is not there why to take that risk?”
They add “By doing more films, as a director both Ramu and Puri can earn remuneration for 4 films. It is a natural emotion that everyone wants to score success and both have good narrative with which they can impress. But once a film goes to floor things may not be as close to the thoughts conceived.”
“But even if 1 out of 4 films work then credit will be sustained. In Puri’s case ‘Businessman’ worked and ‘DCM’ flunked. With ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ anything can happen. It is the same with Ramu. They can do non-stop movies and with their brand value remunerations will come. Even if business goes down due to flops, one hit is enough to get them back to race. Both are going with business calculation and not emotion. So they know what they are doing. By doing more films, any one project can click and this trial and error method is adopted. Anyhow, firing more bullets in short span than firing one bullet in long span is their route.”
