Tony Scott, the director who was well known to the world after his smashing hit Top Gun starring Tom Cruise, had jumped of a county bridge in Los Angeles had died in the mishap. He had also been popular for his direction skills in Days of Thunder, and Beverly Hills Cop II.
The County Coroner of Los Angeles, Joe Bale said that the incident which had happened on the 19 August is being treated as suicide for the investigation.
According to several authorities, Tony Scott had jumped off from the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Sunday in LA that connects Terminal Islands and San Pedro. U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Jennifer Osburn said that there was a suicide note found inside Scott's car, a black Toyota Prius, which was parked on one of the lanes, heading east, on the bridge.
Ridley Scott, the director of Alien is the elder brother of Tony. With his number one hit Top Gun he had become one of the A-listed directors in Hollywood. His direction had brought stars like Tom Cruise, Robert de Niro, Brad Pitt, Will Smith and several others to stardom. He would often cast Christopher Walken and Denzel Washington in his movies.
Ridley and Tony Scott worked together for TV like Numb3rs and The Good Wife. A-Team, the movie which stars Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper, was also their collaborative work. Tony Scott, when he was 16, had played the lead character in Ridley's first movie Boy And Bicycle (1960).
Scott was often seen with a red baseball cap that was worn and faded. Mr Scott married three times and was living with his last wife and two children.
