The tragic accident of a bus falling into a valley, 250 feet deep, had killed over 52 people. Of the
52 people at least 18 people were women and two of them were children. The overcrowded bus run by private services had also injured 46 others who were on the bus as it fell into the valley in a valley in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
Rajera was the location where the bus had lost control after a tire had burst and the bus skid into the valley with over 100 passengers on board which was originally intended to carry 42 people. There were also people who were on the top of the bus. 39 people died on the spot while 13 people had succumbed to injuries.
Chamba Deputy Commissioner Sunil Chowdhary said that all the bodies have been recovered.
The dead were announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh while an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 was given to the closest relatives of the deceased. The seriously injured were provided medical help and a Rs 5000 relief fund.
Chief Minister P K Dhumal has said that the accident was a tragic one while he directed the release of relief funds.
