Google was approached by Australia's authorities to delete and destroy all the data of Street View that it had gathered with the use of special cars that have been used for the specific services in 2010.
Privacy commissioner of Australia's, Timothy Pilgrim had expressed his concern over security that there could be potential data that maybe found after the search engine giant, Google had advised that the data was destroyed.
He said that there was ample scope for misuse of the information, personal and no longer required, retained by organizations which could only add to the concerns of the security of the people.
He said, "I appreciate your advising me of this matter, and look forward to confirmation that the data has been destroyed.”
Timothy Pilgrim has also asked for a third party to confirm that the data had been destroyed according to The Herald Sun. He had mentioned that an audit had to be conducted to ensure that the data was completely destroyed.

This action follows after the company is facing 12 lawsuits across the world for harvesting the private data of people through unsecured Wi-Fi connections. Regulators have fined Google in US for the violation of privacy laws. The regulators have also contacted the governments in the UK, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria to find there were any security breaches.
