VISHAKAPATNAM: At least 16 officials and workers were killed and many injured when an explosion took place in a steel plant in here late Wednesday evening. According to sources, the explosion took place in the oxygen plant in the steel melting unit of the plant causing a massive fire.

Rescue teams have rushed to the spot. The death toll is likely to go up.

Details of the accident are awaited.

Tarun designs Upasna-Charan's wedding outfits

Southern actor Ram Charan Teja is set to marry his childhood sweetheart, Upasana Kamineni, Thursday and the high-profile couple will wear Tarun Tahiliani-designed traditional outfits on their D-day.

Giving details about their dresses, Tahiliani told IANS: "Upasna will wear a sheathed yellow and gold South India silk sari with a swarovski encrusted border done with zardosi French knots and a sprinkle of tiny soldered stones. This will be complemented by a rani pink zardosi corset blouse and a rani pink tulle veil."

"Charan will be in a coordinated dhoti, paired with a fine chikan kurta and stole," he added.

Ram is superstar Chiranjeevi's son and Upasana is the granddaughter of Prathap C. Reddy, founder-chairman of Apollo Hospitals.

Ram proposed to Upasna last year on her birthday (July 20) and they got engaged Dec 1 at a private ceremony.

Upasana is a die-hard fan of Tahiliani's bridal collection and says he was her first choice to design her wedding dress.

"My wedding sari is designed by Tarun Tahiliani. He is known for his beautiful bridal creations and I have always liked his style, so when it came to my bridal outfit, Tarun was the first designer I thought of. Since the wedding will be a traditional Telugu ceremony, Tarun had to do a lot of research on the same," she said.

Designer Anamika Khanna, who has styled celebrities including Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu, has designed Upasna's trousseau and some exclusive clothes for the bride's family.

"My trousseau has been designed by my dear friend Anamika Khanna, who has also designed outfits for my entire family for the wedding ceremony. Since I am so fond of Anamika's collections, she has been supportive by creating a unique collection for my entire family, exclusively for the wedding," said Upasna.

Last but not the least, Rajesh Pratap Singh, known for his subtle yet chic collection, has designed exclusively for the groom's famly and close friends, including Ram Charan's father and his cousin, Allu Arjun. (IANS)

Nani Is Half Happy And Half Worried With Eega

The moment ‘Eega’ was announced by director Rajamouli, many were eager to see who the hero was. And when the name of Nani was taken, many said he got a big break and can now enter the top league of heroes. However, it is now heard that Nani seems to be in a half-happy, half- worried status.

Sources reveal that Nani’s role in the film is barely fifteen to twenty minutes. The rest of the time, he flies around in the form of an ‘Eega’. Instead, it is the Kannada star Sudeep who gets to have the maximum screen time despite the fact that he is the antagonist in the film. The second in line is Samantha.

To sum it up, ‘Eega’ is likely to have Nani in a guest role of sorts than anything else. So, it is heard that Nani is worried whether his presence in the film would be recognized or will it just pass off as a blink and miss role. This question can be answered only when the film hits the screens.

Andhra Jyothy's crazy exit poll survey!

A couple of hours after the polling came to an end, several television channels, both national and local, came out with the exit poll results in the state.

More or less, all the channels have predicted that YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would bag majority of the seats, ranging from 13 to 16 seats.

An exit poll conducted by independent agency, the Centre for Voting Opinion & Trends in Election Research (CVOTER) has, in fact, predicted that the YSR Congress would win 16 seats and the Congress would draw a blank.

National channels like Headlines Today and NDTV also indicated a clear victory in favour of the YSR Congress. Even a die-hard Jagan critic like Lagadapati Rajagopal, the Congress MP from Vijayawada, himself has conceded that the YSR Congress would win 12 to 16 seats.

However, ABN Andhra Jyothy, known for its blatant anti-Jagan stand (if not pro-Telugu Desam Party), has conducted its own exit poll survey.

According to it, the YSR Congress party would be able to win only eight seats – Payakaraopeta, Polavaram, Ongole, Udayagiri, Rayachoti, Railway Koduru, Rajampet and Anantapur, besides Nellore Lok Sabha seat. On the other hand, the Congress has the chances of winning five seats – Narasannapet, Ramachandrapuram, Narasapuram, Tirupati and Allagadda, while the TDP would win four seats – Prathipadu, Macherla, Rayadurgam and Yemmiganur. The Parkal seat, as everybody predicted, would go to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

One fails to understand on parameters Andhra Jyothy came to this conclusion. But the channel has claimed that it had interviewed 2000 voters in each constituency in three phases during the day. Anyways, let us see how credible these exit polls are.

'Dammu'- Is That Jr NTR's Life Story?

Junior NTR’s last venture which came in with high expectations was ‘Dammu’ and prior to the release, many expected it to be a registered summer blockbuster. However, the film fizzled out in the theatres and thanks to the stamina of NTR it made some decent collections without tanking totally.

However, an interesting news has come to front. It is heard that ‘Dammu’s storyline is somewhat similar to the real life of Junior. Being born somewhere and then being brought into the big family and projecting that all the other members are useless and he is the only one worthy guy was the essence.

Some say that Venu Thottempudi’s character is Nandamuri Kalyanram. And few dialogues wherein Junior sends feelers like he is entering politics, all sum up to indicate it was Junior’s life story. Meanwhile, another source revealed that director Boyapati Srinu told many stories to NTR but nothing was liked.

So he took the real life story of NTR and twisted it here and there. It is heard that the young tiger connected to it. Boyapati reportedly mentioned “This is your story and you just see how mass will connect to it.” and NTR agreed. Whether this is true or not, we leave it to all those who watched the film to decide that.

హైదరాబాద్‌ : జగన్‌ అక్రమాస్తుల కేసులో రెండో నిందితుడిగా ఉన్న విజయసాయిరెడ్డికి హైకోర్టులో ఊరట లభించింది. ఏప్రిల్‌ 13న సాయిరెడ్డికి బెయిల్‌ లభించింది. ఈ బెయిల్‌ను సవాల్‌ చేస్తూ సీబీఐ హైకోర్టులో పిటీషన్‌ దాఖలు చేసింది. సాయిరెడ్డి సాక్ష్యాలను తారుమారు చేసినట్లు ఆధారాలు లేవని ఈరోజు హైకోర్టు పేర్కొంది. సాయిరెడ్డి సీబీఐ దర్యాప్తునకు సహకరించాలని స్పష్టం చేసింది. ప్రొఫెషనల్స్‌ విలువలకు కట్టుబడి ఉండాలని పేర్కొంది. ప్రలోభాలకు లొంగిపోరాదని తెలిపింది. ఆర్థిక నేరాలు దేశాన్ని భ్రష్టు పట్టిస్తాయని హైకోర్టు చెప్పింది. సీబీఐ స్వత్రంత సంస్థ అని, దర్యాప్తు పారదర్శకంగా ఉండాలని హైకోర్టు సూచించింది.

Psychological Problem Among Mega Fans

Lately, a new trend has begun to develop among the mega fans and this is being termed as more psychological. Apparently, the mega fans are really delighted that Pawan Kalyan has once again reached the top and is ruling the roost. This has also raised the quotient of fan mania for him.

While that is fine here is the twist. It is heard that the mega fans are believing in one motto- They want Pawan Kalyan on top but they are not ready to put Ram Charan or Allu Arjun down. Incidentally, they want all the three stars to remain at the top and become the holy trinity for Tollywood.

Those who heard this are perplexed with this theory. They say “Reaching the league of Pawan Kalyan when he is around is impossible. And both Charan and Bunny are kids in front of him, not just in age but also in mass following and box office deliverables. This is a rather crazy expectation of the mega fans which is totally ruled out.”
