The latest strategy of YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi’s latest strategy of attracting people with her tears seems to be working wonders for the party.
During the concluding meeting of her two-day deeksha at Eluru on fee reimbursement scheme, Vijayalakshmi burst into tears on quite a few occasions, ostensibly to attract the people, particularly womenfolk. She recalled that it would be three years on September 2 since her late husband YS Rajasekhara Reddy died in a tragic helicopter crash.
“I feel very sad when I look at the Congress government in the state which was the result of the hard work of my husband. Even he must be feeling very bad on the sorry state of affairs in the state as he watches from heaven,” she said, bursting into tears.
She broke down once again when she was recalling the week-long fast undertaken by her son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad a few months ago for the same fee reimbursement scheme.
“I felt very bad when he did not eat anything for the entire week. But I was very much moved when he said nothing would happen to him as he was fighting for the sake of people,” Vijayamma said.
And the response from the people to her tear-jerking speech was tremendous. After all, nothing works more effectively than sentiment and emotions!
