Why so much demand for Dasari in politics?

Former union minister Dasari Narayana Rao is said to be in a serious dilemma as to which way he should go with regard to his political career.
According to a latest media report, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is making efforts to rope Dasari into his party, which needs a strong Kapu leader to wean the community away from the Congress. Since Dasari is known for his animosity towards rival Kapu leader and Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi, he might not continue in the Congress for a long time. Because of his rivalry towards Chiranjeevi, Dasari might prefer YSR Congress party. Moreover, his favourite disciple Mohan Babu is also all set to take a plunge into the Jagan party and so, Dasari would be more comfortable there.
However, there is also an attempt to bring Dasari into the Telugu Desam Party. Of late, Dasari has been moving closely associated with senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, brother-in-law of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. And Balayya is said to be requesting Dasari to come into the TDP, so that at least a few section of Kapus would be with the party.
But one wonders whether Dasari is any big force to reckon with in politics, because he was hardly a people’s man despite being a union minister and MP in the past. It is doubtful whether his entry into or exit from any political party would bring about any major changes in the Kapu vote bank.
