Cyberabad police commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said the case was registered against them following a complaint from Vasireddy Chandrabala who is believed to have made hundreds of calls to CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana.
The YSR Congress party leaders had alleged that she, along with Lakhsminarayana, had conspired with a section of media to cause physical harm to party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
According to the police, Yadagiri Reddy had managed the Nacharam inspector to obtain the call list of Lakshminarayana through dubious means. The list was passed on to YSR Congress party leaders who had made the allegation against Chandrabala. She complained to the police that Sakshi channel had carried a programme on June 21 showing her in a bad taste which had caused harm to her dignity and reputation.
The SP said the investigation was entrusted to Asst. Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime PS, Cyberabad.
