The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday received a reprimand from the CBI special court for its carelessness in filing the supplementary charge sheet in the alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy......
The special court, while rejecting the supplementary charge sheet, said it was full of blunders. The court wondered how the CBI can frame charges on companies that had invested in Jagan’s business empire, rather than the representatives of the companies.
“You cannot accuse the companies of indulging in irregularities. They must be represented by some responsible individuals. How can you file charge-sheets against companies without naming their representatives?” the judge Durgaprasada Rao asked.
He asked the CBI to file the revised charge sheet naming the persons who are responsible for the day to day affairs of the companies.
“Otherwise, it would lead to legal complications,” the judge observed.
