KCR Sent 'Merger' Feelers To Cong?

Rayalaseema Hakkula Porata Vedika and minister for minor irrigation T G Venkatesh, who never loses any opportunity to run down the Telangana movement, on Tuesday expressed apprehensions that the Congress high command might take its decision on the bifurcation of the state anytime.
“The time has come for the party to take a decision on the Telangana issue and once the high command takes a decision, it will not go back on its stand. We are now worried whether the party would decide in favour of Telangana state. If it wants to take any such decision, it should consult us first as it should protect the interests of Rayalaseema before bifurcating the state,” Venkatesh said.
He said he had received some confidential information that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao had sent feelers to the Congress high command stating that he would abolish the TRS and merge it with the Congress if the Telangana state was granted. “There is a possibility that the high command might accept the proposal,” he said.
For the first time, Venkatesh said he had no enmity with the Telangana people or leaders. “Our only concern is that the rights of the Rayalaseema people should not be compromised,” he added.
