One of the best reasons why many people opt for melons, during any season, is because they contain very little saturateed fat and cholesterol. The fruit also has a lot of other benefits, since it is very rich in minerals. Watermelons are a good source of potassium and vitamins A and C.

The other beneficial thing about watermelons is that it can be eaten at any time of the day and either before or after a meal. Watermelon juices, sorbets and other sweets have become popular at many of the hangouts in the country. Similarly, fruit-based salads too have watermelons as an integral ingredient.
