CHENNAI: Actor-turned-politician Karthik was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Greams Road, Chennai on Friday.
Sources said Karthik suffered severe throat pain.
The 52-year-old actor will undergo scan and other tests on Saturday. Doctors said his vital parameters are normal.
Karthik, son of veteran actor Muthuraman, entered politics in 2006 to become the Tamil Nadu state secretary of Forward Block party.
