TDP Lost Where It Had Hopes!

More than the Congress, it was the Telugu Desam Party which has received a rude shock in the by-elections to 18 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat.
The TDP has lost in all the seats where it had high hopes of winning and putting up a tough fight. The TDP leaders and their media bandwagon predicted that the party would win in Emmiganur, Prathipadu, Macherla and Polavaram, but in all these seats, the TDP lost the polls with a heavy margin.
For example, in Emmiganur constituency, YSR Congress party candidate Chennakesava Reddy had won the seat with a huge margin of over 20,000 votes.
Similarly, in Prathipadu, the YSR Congress party candidate Sucharita had won the seat with over 16,000 votes and in Macherla, on which the TDP was pinning hopes, the YSR Congress candidate P Ramakrishna Reddy emerged victorious with a margin of over 15,000 votes. On the other hand, in Polavaram, YSR Congress party candidate Balaraju registered a huge majority of over 26,000 votes.
So, the TDP’s hopes of winning at least one or two seats were completely shattered. And Andhra Octopus Lagadapati Rajagopal’s prediction on the TDP performance has fallen flat.
