Chiranjeevi should have played “God Father”

Chiranjeevi should have played “God Father”
Megastar Chiranjeevi was supposed to do a film titled "God Father" to be directed by Vijaya Bapineedu. The director penned a gangster based script, which is on the lines of "Sarkar" starring Amitabh Bachchan. After watching Ram Gopal Varma's "Sarkar", Vijaya Bapineedu was very impressed and wants to make a film on the similar lines in Telugu starring Chiranjeevi in 2005.

However, things did not work out as Chiranjeevi was then busy shooting for "Jai Chiranjeeva". Subsequently, Chiranjeevi could not allocate the dates for this film and eventually took the political plunge. And as a result this film was shelved. Vijaya Bapineedu directed several movies starring Chiranjeevi and some of the films like "Magamaharaju", "Khaidi No 786" and "Gang Leader" turned out to be blockbusters.
