BANGALORE: Karnataka, which has so far been basking in the glory of IT, has to log onto other sunshine sectors to retain its business edge, NR Narayana Murthy, chairman emeritus, Infosys Technologies, said in his special address.
"The knowledge base sectors contribute over 40% of Karnataka's exports. There is a need to diversify beyond the IT sector and beyond Bangalore. Friendly polices towards sunshine sectors will promote such a diversification," he said. Software exports contribute 21.4% to the state's GSDP.
